August is National Breastfeeding Awareness Month in the United States, as declared by the U.S. Breastfeeding Committee in 2011. The month aims to educate people about the importance of breastfeeding for babies' health and development. Breast milk provides nutrients for physical and mental development, helps build the immune system, and can reduce the risk of obesity and allergies.
